RESTORE: The Promise After the Pain

1 Peter 5:10 "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

Have you ever restored an old piece of furniture or a picture and saw the beauty reappear before your very eyes? After a bit of work of course. Sometimes life has a way of beating us up and we need the restoration that only the Lord can do for us. He comes in with love and comfort and soothes our weariness. We know we can curl up in His arms for a bit of time as He restores our faith and gives us strength for the next day.

Psalm 51:12 "Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by your generous Spirit."

When we come to the Lord in prayer He is listening. Each prayer is our conversation with our Father and our Friend. He knows exactly what our need is and what He can and will restore for us in spirit and favor. He will only restore us in the areas that align with His will for us. We can always know He is for us not against us even when we are enduring trials.

As we go through the days ahead let us keep our eyes and ears on Him and listen for the words of restoration, faith and unending joy from our Lord and Savior Jesus.
