All GLORY to God

Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory."

The word glory is hardly used in the English language today. We seldom speak of the day being glorious. My grandmother used to say “Glory be!” as an exclamation. The word glory is a beautiful word. It means magnificent. It also means honored, praise worthy, to have or be dignified. To worship.

When we give glory to the Lord, we are giving Him the praise due His name. He is the Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End. He is the Father of all creation. He is the King and the Savior. He is everlasting to everlasting. He is our all in all!

Isaiah 2:10 says, “Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, From the terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty.”

The glory, the splendor, the majestic majesty of the Lord God is nothing to take lightly. We are to be in reverent fear of the Lord. When Moses stood in the presence of God his face and his hair turned white, and he wore a veil when he came down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments for the people. While Moses was unable to look into the face of God, simply being in God’s presence changed his outward appearance and the glory of God shown from him.

As followers of Jesus Christ, Son of God we also should shine from His glory. The Spirit of God lives in us and shines out of us. His glory is revealed in us, In Luke 2 we read that the angels sang “Glory to God in the Highest!” at the birth of Jesus. We read that the shepherds in the fields were in fear as the glory of the Lord shined all around them. When we each take time to draw closer to the Lord, we feel His glory and majesty.

Revelation 5:12 "In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

Someday we will be in His presence and the glory of the Lord will shine like nothing we have ever seen before.
