MESSAGE: What are you sending?

1 John 3:11 "For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,"

What a blessing that last week we talked about preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ and this week the Lord would have a talk about the message and this is the message from Jesus himself, love one another. If we are teaching and preaching about the saving grace of Jesus, we are loving those who we are teaching and preaching to. We want them saved. We want them with us for all eternity in the New Earth that is to come when this earth passes away.

All throughout the New Testament the writers and apostles speak of the message of Jesus. Those messages were passed down orally at the beginning of Christianity and eventually written down. Jesus spoke many parables and many messages to the people when he was in his 3 plus years in his ministry.

Apostle Paul said in Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”

Humans are always talking spreading their messages to others. We write, we speak, we show, we do all kinds of things to give them a message of what we are thinking and what them to know. We pick up the phone when we want to hear the voice of someone we love. Jesus spread a message of love, first and foremost. Turn your cheek. Give your coat. Walk the extra mile. Follow the laws. Guard your tongue. Live in peace. Stay sober. Follow the 10 Commandments Father God gave to Moses at the beginning. The message is simple and easy for those who love God and those who follow after Jesus.

God is always speaking to his people through the Holy Spirit when we listen.

1 Corinthians 12:8 "To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,"

Every day we should each be watching and listening to the Lord for whatever message he is giving to us and those he is giving to us for others. He will always give us exactly what we need and the message will always show his love for us. Be willing to spread this beautiful message of the love of our Creator.
