Psalm 38:15 "Lord, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God."
Last week our word was wait and this week it is answer. This is how the Holy Spirit moves when he has something to say. We all know that waiting can be so difficult and many times when the answer comes it is not the one we wanted. This is where our ability to trust in the Lord comes in. We must have faith that he will give us the correct answer for any and all situations that can be life altering.
We so often plead with God to give us the answer for what we have been praying about or for. It is hard to remember that he is not on the clock or calendar and does not respond immediately. There are times we must learn to wait so that we are ready when the answer comes.
Psalm 69:16 "Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me."
Think about those days when you are stressed out and you lash out with a quick, angry answer. That was not how you normally respond but because you were anxious about something your mouth responded before your heart was engaged. Our Lord will never respond with a quick answer. He loves you so much that he will wait for the right time with the right answer.
Life is a Q & A (Question & Answer) test for the entire time we are alive. I love that little toddlers always seem to ask, “Why is the sky blue?” Whenever we ask a question, we expect an answer. What happens when the answer does not come as quickly as we would like? Do we patiently listen for the Lord to answer or show us? Or do we blast right past him and take matters into our own hands? There are thousands of self-help books out there telling us how we can find the right answers to all of life’s questions if we just buy that book for the author to tell us.
Wait for the Great Author God to give you the answer. The Lord is the only one who truly knows you and truly knows the answers that will be best for you and your path of life.
Mark 11:24 "Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
Ask and the answer will come. God loves you!
