Do we have a PURE heart before the Lord?

ree

Proverbs 30:5 "Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him."

The only perfect, pure and acceptable human being that ever lived here on earth was Jesus Christ.  There has been no other.  Every word that Jesus spoke as he was teaching his disciples was filled with purity and was straight from the Father.

A couple of weeks ago we talked about the refinement of God in us as He works to make us a pure vessel. As we grow in our knowledge of Him and read His word we are refined to this purity.  To be cleansed from our sins is to be purified by His blood.  Only His word is pure and fit for our lives and the more we learn the better we become. Every day we should strive to know Him better and strive to be better ourselves.  Remember, Jesus said we are to take up our cross daily.  To follow after Him every single day.  Not just once or twice a week but every single day. By the power of the Holy Spirit living in us do we hear the pure and holy words of God that fills our souls and teaches us.

As human beings we will never be completely pure without spot or blemish while we walk in this life.  Only in the next life will we be as pure as the Word.  When we leave this life we will stand before The Word, who is Jesus Christ.  He is pure.  His words are pure.  He is our shield and our fortress as we live life.

Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me."

Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."

As we seek our Lord and savior Jesus we become more like Him.  Day by day we grow and reflect His ways in the world.  This is why He called us by name even though we feel we are not worthy of this calling.  We know we are not pure but He sees us as we will be, not as we are.  This is why He came to earth and hung on the cross so that His blood would cover and purify us!  Nothing we have done cannot be forgiven and nothing we can do can earn us more of His love.

His love and His forgiveness are pure!
