Isaiah 65:22 "No longer will they build houses and others live in them, or plant and others eat. For as the days of a tree, so will be the days of my people; my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands."

We work long and hard to enjoy our days here on earth. We enjoy the comforts of home and the comforts of our families going through the days with us. As children our parents made our childhood enjoyable and then as we grew into adulthood, we knew that only by hard work would we be able to spend our money on the things we enjoyed. But was there time left for enjoyment of what we had accumulated?
This verse in Isaiah speaks about the days of a tree. Why is he using a tree as an example? A tree grows and does nothing to earn or accumulate. It stands stationery and grows if the ground is good, the light is good, the water is plenty and no disease or fire kills it. The tree is enjoying the life it was given by God. Man comes along and cuts the tree down and makes a home from it. He plants more trees so that he can enlarge his house or build one for his children to enjoy. This man knows the tree was grown and cared for by God and thanks God for this provision.
Each day God provides for us so that we can enjoy life on earth. When we acknowledge God and praise him for these provisions God calls us his children. Knowing God makes all the difference. Denying him makes us different in another way and not in a good way. Without the joy and strength we get from God how can we enjoy each day in the way God wants for us? He wants us to have a long and joyful life. It is his gift to us!
Ecclesiastes 5:19 "Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God."
The Father wants us to enjoy the day and to work at making life better for us and those around us.
