GLORIFIED: Beauty from the Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 "To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

When we watch the Olympics, the champion stands on a platform and receives a trophy, and a medal is hung on their neck to give them glory and praise for winning.  There are many contests where the winner of whatever that contest is receives glory and adoration.  Winning is a part of the human experience.  Everyone loves a compliment or praise for something accomplished that is of value.  As followers of Jesus, we want the praise and love of the Father.  We want him to show us how much he loves us.  When we see his touch in our lives, we glorify him and sing praises to his name for he has done great things.

As we grow in the knowledge of Jesus and learn to walk with him during the good times and the bad times, we learn to glorify him for all he has done to guide us and keep us from sin.  We glorify him for the sacrifice he made on the cross to pay the price for our sin.  When we seek him and learn more our glorification of Father, Son and Spirit comes out of us in the forms of songs, testimony, praises and all kinds of adoration because we know where we were and what he brought us out of!  We give all the glory to God and thank him from the very depths of our being.  We know we deserve nothing but he says “You are mine!”

2 Corinthians 4:17 "For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,"

We are made in the image of God.  We enjoy the honor of recognition when we do something worthy.  We humbly say, “Thank you”.  Why wouldn’t our Lord feel the same when his children see what he has done in our lives by giving him all praise, glory and honor for his love and compassion for us?  Every single day is a gift from God therefore every single day we should give him glory!

John 15:8 "By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples."
