Gods BEAUTY is something to gaze upon and live in.

Psalms 27:4 "One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple."

Have you ever really sat and thought about the beauty of the Lord? There are words in scripture that call him King, Prince of Peace, Rose of Sharon, Everlasting, Bright Morning Star, Light of the World, Lamb of God, Great Shepherd and many others. When we come to His throne in the temple when life is done, we will have the great pleasure to gaze upon His beauty and know him as our Father and Friend. For now, we only catch little glimpses of His beauty.

There are certain times of life when His beauty is more apparent than on normal, busy days. We stop and look into the face of a new baby or a little laughing child and see the beauty. We hear the birds singing on a bright, sunny spring morning after the cold winter days have passed and we hear the beauty and smile. We hold the hands of those we love and comfort them during the trials of life and feel the beauty of love in our hearts. We see the bride walking down the aisle towards her groom and see the radiant beauty of their love for each other.

There is scripture that says that Jesus was not beautiful in appearance yet the people flocked to Him when He began teaching and healing. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” is a well-known statement without known origin but has been repeated for centuries. God looks at the heart not the beauty or lack of beauty in the face. The internal beauty is what the Lord is looking at in each of His children.

1 Samuel 16:7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Beauty is found in so many ways every single day and all we have to do is to watch and to listen. Our days can be so busy and noisy that we miss those little glimpses of the Lord’s beauty surrounding us in such beautiful, glorious ways. I hope you take those few extra minutes this week to find them and treasure their beauty in your heart and soul.
