Mighty: Strength You Can Trust

Psalm 24:8 "Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle."

This verse brings to mind thoughts of the strength of the Mighty Lord in Bible scriptures that tell of Him riding into battle on a powerful large white horse with His sword blazing. The stories of the mightiness of God are in the Old Testament and also in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. With His mighty strength He comes to save and redeem His people. He is a powerful Father who will not let His people be harmed or destroyed.

Scripture tells us that Jesus was not a man of stature, mighty and powerful in bodily strength. He was a typical man and not a muscle-bound Hercules type of a man. Yet His strength and might showed in every powerful miracle He provided to others. His might was done in kindness and love not in battles and war. Sometimes something mighty is done in the quietness and sweetness of a kind act towards another. Sometimes God shows up in the quiet of the storm not in the mighty blowing winds.

As we enter this new year many of us have great expectations that this year will be quietly smooth and filled with great love and happiness. With our Mighty God in control, it should be a wonderful year with our loved ones. We look forward to new adventures. We will seek the Lord for more knowledge and wisdom from Him. We will do our best to be mighty warriors for Him and for those we love and pray for. His example of strength, endurance and perseverance will make us into strong and mighty faithful servant of our Mighty Lord. He is with us!

Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He rejoice over you with singing."
